Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) was an American actress, singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford is currently involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at leading the production. Ashford has been seen most recently in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the nation's first impeachment proceedings over an Century. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first big part. In addition, she appeared on the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Some other Broadway performances for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was raised in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
