Selena Quintanilla Perez (born Selena Quintanilla Quitanilla Perez) was an American musician. She was a very popular singer with a Texan beat. The singer was born on the 16th of April, 1971 at Lake Jackson Texas. She has always sung in Spanish despite her American heritage and speaking English as her mother spoken language. Selena was born into a family which was loving, happy and of Hispanic tradition. Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla, was also a musician, although his music did not receive more recognition than his daughter.
